Class 9

Reaction Engineering Tasks

Class 9 describes response, optimization, and design tasks that require the use of reaction engineering models. It suggests a workflow for formulating the necessary calculations and a complementary computer code structure for implementing them.

Learning Outcomes

After completing Class 9 you should…

  1. know how the rate varies with composition and temperature for a typical reaction
  2. understand how to qualitatively analyze reactor performance by sketching graphs of composition, temperature, etc. versus reaction time
  3. be able to explain the differences between response, optimization, design, and parameter estimation tasks
  4. understand the workflow for completing reaction engineering assignments that is used in Reaction Engineering Basics and SCoRE
  5. be able to formulate the numerical calculations for completing a reaction engineering assignment
