Class 9
Reaction Engineering Tasks
Class 9 describes response, optimization, and design tasks that require the use of reaction engineering models. It suggests a workflow for formulating the necessary calculations and a complementary computer code structure for implementing them.
Learning Outcomes
After completing Class 9 you should…
- know how the rate varies with composition and temperature for a typical reaction
- understand how to qualitatively analyze reactor performance by sketching graphs of composition, temperature, etc. versus reaction time
- be able to explain the differences between response, optimization, design, and parameter estimation tasks
- understand the workflow for completing reaction engineering assignments that is used in Reaction Engineering Basics and SCoRE
- be able to formulate the numerical calculations for completing a reaction engineering assignment
