Class 12
SBSTR Response
Class 11 introduces the semi-batch, stirred-tank reactors (SBSTRs). It describes them, how they are operated, and their advantages and disadvantages. It describes the modeling of batch-fed SBSTRs.
Learning Outcomes
After completing Class 12 you should…
- be able to list the assumptions in the ideal SBSTR design equation
- be able to list advantages and disadvantages of SBSTRs
- know that SBSTR operation often occurs in sequential stages that may transition from semi-batch to batch modes
- be able to identify the SBSTR design equations on the SCoRE Equation Summary
- be able to calculate the response of an SBSTR given sufficient information about how it is being operated
